The Finance Manager is primarily responsible for local financial planning, forecasting, accounting, reporting and analysis as well as the financial integrity and internal controls. The incumbent champions cost improvement strategies, cash improvements, and provides insight into regular financial and business plans as well as project and other analytical needs.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the preparation, analysis and reporting of consolidated financial statements
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate submission of monthly actuals, monthly forecasts and plan to our head office
  • Responsible for managing, coordinating and consolidating the month end reporting, forecast and planning processes
  • Responsible for various financial and accounting activities related to costing of products and gross margins to provide proper commercial insights
  • Analyze and drive improvements from monthly financial accounting and closing including variance analysis, accruals and account analysis review.
  • Prepare/review analysis of variances to plan and prior year and present results to leadership team to drive improvements.
  • Prepare the annual Plans, targets and outline key decisions for year
  • Conducts ongoing and special financial analysis like Margin analysis, strategy analysis, cost analysis, etc. in support for various department’s decision-making process. Drives the implementation of corresponding processes and systems to ensure efficient supply of accurate data
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate transmission of the monthly actuals, monthly forecast and annual profit plans to head office
  • Collaborates on organizational projects
  • Supervises and Manages Cashflow planning to ensure effective use of cash resources
  • Prepares and/or Reviews cashflow statement (direct and indirect) and interprets financial results. Recommends corrective action if necessary.
  • SME on banking matters and manages banking relationship
  • Prepares Pension Financial statements and ensures smooth administration of the plan
  • Coordinates with the actuary for the amount of the annual pension expense in line with IFRS standards.
  • Acts as liaison with actuary, custodian, auditors and regulators of pension plan for financial related matters
  • Acts as Canada’s Coordinator and subject matter expert for Sarbanes Oxley internal controls
  • Supervises and/or perform month end close, forecasting, budgeting and account analysis for areas of responsibility 
  • Oversees credit and collection operation (adheres to policy and procedures, perform credit decisions, supports C&C staff)
  • Manages external financial audits
  • Responsible for accounting for IFRS 16 lease accounting
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • University degree in Commerce, specializing in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA designation is required
  • Experience of 10 years in a similar role
  • Proficiency in French and English (oral, written), Korean is an asset.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, and ERP systems
  • Proven Leadership and financial skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage matrix reporting relationship
  • Ability to work independently, but closely with local management
  • Must have superior problem-solving skills and analytical skills in order to identify and evaluate business risks and opportunities.
